Although the Greens have won this mayoral election, the fight for Hackney continues — and residents should remember that this vote only happened because Reform stood up to Labour's attempt to abolish local elections, took it to court, and won.

About

Get to know Vahid.

Vahid Almasi is standing as the Reform UK candidate for Mayor of Hackney in the May 2026 local elections.

I've spent over a decade in senior roles bringing order, structure and real results to some of the largest organisations in the world. Now, I want the same for our borough.

What began as curiosity led me to Reform UK, and I stayed because our values align: community, family, honesty, and a commitment to doing things differently.

My mission is simple — you, the people of Hackney.
